These little bits of light–and connecting with other writers at the recent AWP conference–are helping me get back to writing after being a bit mired in the current upheaval and the prevailing political despair. We’ll keep fighting! <3

Some exciting news: System of Ghosts is on the shortlist for the Julie Suk Award, an award given by Jacar Press for the best book of poetry published by an independent press in the previous year. Congrats to the other finalists and semi-finalists!

A wonderful new review of System of Ghosts just went up at Green Mountains Review. Reviewer Jenn Carter says of the book: “I find myself returning to this book again and again, a sincere phantom.”

Two new poems recently published online at Oxidant/Engine and one poem published in print in the new issue of Cream City Review.

Upcoming events include a reading in Madison, the “Nasty Women Reading,” where all proceeds go to Planned Parenthood Wisconsin. I’ll also be reading in Athens, Nashville, and Knoxville in the coming months.

The most exciting upcoming event is in April: I’ll be returning to read at Iowa State University MFA Program “Home Voices” Alumni Festival and I am judging Flyway‘s Home Voices writing contest for current MFA students.
